7. KW in Sole Charge

Picture
Picture
If you are working with an assistant who is first aid trained, then you may require them to be left in sole charge of some of the children in your care at certain points throughout the day.

This form enable you to keep a running tally of the minutes that the assistant is left alone with the children in one day- to ensure that it does not exceed the legal allowance of 2 hours per day, for those who have written parent permission for the assistant to do so.

The form can be completed by the childminder, if they are the ones leaving the assistant along in the setting, and click back in on their return. Or by the assistant, if they are leaving the setting to go on a school run.

NB. The assistant only needs to record the time that they collected the child- not the time that they left the setting- to the time that they are back with the childminder.

You are able to print off the report, which shows the record of times and dates that your assistant has been in sole charge of children over the duration of a week.
