You are able to link next steps to each of the prime areas, showing you are thinking of future progression, or areas that may need more focus. In order to link with parents, you can also offer suggestions of what they could do at home to encourage further development.
There is a space for an overview, where you can comment on how the child is in the specific areas, without going into too much detail.
This form can also be used to record observations and 'wow moments' in addition to the EYFS learning observations. This form gives you the ability to do brief observations and insert a picture to accompany them. The drop down boxes are also there to link them to the age and area of development, as well as date each observation.
